California Home Modification and Repair Services: Status, Issues, and Recommendations - Executive Summary (.pdf)
To prepare California for its future challenges and opportunities in the area of home modification, the National Resource Center on Supportive Housing and Home Modification at the University of Southern California Andrus Gerontology Center collaborated with the California Department of Aging Senior Housing Information and Support Center to develop an inventory and analysis of the current home modification service delivery system.
The purpose of this document is to report the findings of a research project designed to identify and analyze the status of home modification and repair (HMR) services in California. This project sought to determine who is providing and who is receiving HMR services. Additionally, the project investigated
the barriers to HMR service delivery. This information provides a benchmark to support the development of future HMR services and assesses how well California is prepared to address future needs in this area

The mission of the California Department of Aging (CDA) is to lead and advocate for the dignity, independence, health and community involvement of older Californians, family caregivers, and adults with disabilities. The CDA Senior and Housing Information and Support Center has provided the following resources to assist interested parties in locating useful information about the broad range of home- and community-based services available throughout California.
